Beauty Booth or open-air photo booth: choose your portrait style

Start with the photographs you want guests to take home. Lighting, framing, backdrop and print design all contribute to the finished look.

Define the portrait style

A Beauty Booth centers on polished portraits with a glam-inspired treatment and considered lighting. It can suit a formal celebration, gala, wedding or brand event where a consistent portrait finish matters.

An open-air photo booth describes an open setup that can be adapted to a range of backdrops and event styles. It can create playful group photographs, clean branded portraits or a simple party keepsake. The label alone does not tell you the final image treatment.

These categories can overlap in physical layout. Ask to see sample output from the package you are considering instead of assuming that the booth name describes every feature.

Review lighting and backdrop together

A dark event room, reflective wall and bright outdoor terrace each affect the setup differently. Share a photograph or floor plan of the proposed location and the time of day the experience will operate. The team can then review the lighting arrangement and background with the actual conditions in mind.

Choose whether the background should feel quiet, decorative or strongly branded. Keep the portrait area clear enough for the intended group size, and ask how the backdrop and lights fit into the full operating footprint.

Black-and-white or color?

Either choice should be part of the creative brief. Review how the selected treatment represents your event styling and branding. A monochrome portrait may call for a different logo treatment from a colorful event frame.

Individual portraits or groups?

If large group photographs matter, tell the team before the layout is approved. Framing, lighting coverage and guest positioning need to support the intended use. Do not assume a sample featuring two guests establishes the maximum group size.

Choose the print format

Discuss photo strips, larger portrait prints and digital delivery as separate choices. Confirm how many images appear on a print, the number of copies included, the placement of the event name and the collection process. Review the final proof at the actual output size.

Ask whether the selected package includes a print station, an attendant, a backdrop, custom artwork and any album or presentation extras. Two proposals with similar headline prices can include different deliverables.

Make participation easy

Place the booth where guests can discover it naturally, with room to join and leave the experience. A clear queue is especially helpful after dinner or near the end of a reception. Keep the collection point from becoming the entry point for the next group.

Send a visual brief

Include your event date, venue, guest count, active hours and two or three examples of the finish you like. Add any brand colors, backdrop concept and print preference. We can use that brief to recommend the portrait experience and build a proposal with clear inclusions.
